A child, especially one with special needs, spends a huge amount of time with a parent and/or caregiver. That time can be incredibly fruitful in developing the child's ability to think and express herself/himself. This approach takes advantage of the fact that a young child's brain forms 1.8 billion new neurological connections per second! Dear Anat, Marcy, Carole and all the team at ABM,

We have just finished our first online intensive for Alex with Marcy and Carole and we are feeling many things, hopeful, motivated, inspired and most of all grateful for the experience that has literally blown us away.

     Alex is my grandson and was diagnosed just over two years ago with ASD, he is now 4 years and 8 months. He is and always has been a very happy and loving little boy but he has his challenges and frustrations due mainly to the fact that he is pretty much non-verbal, he has struggled to focus and his attention span is quite limited.
    And then this week we found Marcy and Carole who have been coaching Magda, Alex’s mum and the change has been amazing and rapid. He has said more words, focused better and paid better attention than I have ever seen him do. He sat with his mum and looked interestingly through a little book for a few minutes, which I have never seen him do before. He is initiating words by bringing us flash cards and little animal toys.
    We were both astounded and happy and so proud of Alex who has also started mainstream school this week for the very first time, so he has had a lot going on and then to see him respond to this therapy has been just amazing.
    By getting us to slow down, calm down and let Alex take the lead we have witnessed such a dramatic shift in him. Now all we want is for us to get better and better at implementing the nine essentials and change our approach from trying to “fix” him to making that connection with him and allow him to learn and experience the world that we now know holds no limits for him.
    Thank you so much for using “lockdown” to think outside the box and bring ABM online, allowing you to reach many more families around the world, giving them access to your expertise and wonderful staff.
    I hope even if things go back to “normal” you will be able to continue this wonderful work online, because for us it has had such a positive impact on Alex and on us as a family, more than any other treatment therapy we have tried; and we have tried a few.
